The Blackville Music Art Festival is an event that the lord blessed me to put together.  It is an event to showcase the talents of this area’s people young and old as well as all mediums of art.  The idea for the festival was presented and pushed to the side back in 2009 but after revamping everything a new proposal was submitted and I was giving the green light in 2010.  In 2011 President Terrance Washington, Ethel Washington, (VP) Nigel Fisher, Kin Orr, Lydia B. Myers, Marjada Thompson, Allen Harrison & Lillian Harrison formed the first Blackville Music Art Festival Committee. The Committee worked hard & in 2012 the first Blackville Music Art Festival took place and it was a small but successful event bringing into the small town of Blackville about 250 – 500 people.   The non-profit Committee made some changes and added some new members, President Terrance Washington, Ethel Washington, (VP) Victor Jones, Allen Harrison, Charmane O’Berry & Lillian Harrison worked even harder and made the event even bigger and better.  There was a big increase in participation from vendors, artists, performers and the crowd/spectators, there was about 1000 - 1500 people to attend this event.   The Committee has added some new members Starlett Harrison, Nancy Chisom and Lydia B. Myers.  The 2014 Blackville Music Art Festival is shaping up to be an even bigger Festival.
